The vision of HCIO is to "changing lives with the Word of God".
We are a fellowship "Where Jesus Christ Is Lord" and we love people.
Our mission is to transform lives and families with the uncompromising Word the God.
This transformation focuses on restoring lost humanity back to God and ministering to the total man, spirit, soul, and body.
What We Believe
1. There is one God manifested in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit externally existent. (Matthew 28:19, II Corinthians 13:14)
2. The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16, II Peter 1:21)
3. Christianity is based upon:
a. The deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1-14, 18)
b. His sinless life (I Peter 2:21-22)
c. His virgin birth (Matthew 1:18-25)
d. His miracles (Acts 2:22)
e. His atoning death through His shed blood (Romans 5:6-11)
f. His burial (Matthew 27:57-66)
g. His bodily resurrection (Matthew 25:5-7)
h. His ascension to the right hand of God the Father (Ephesians 1:19-20)
i. His second coming & the rapture of the church (I Thess. 4:15-18, John 14:3, Acts 1:11)
4. The New Birth (accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior) is necessary for all and produces eternal life through confession and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 10:9-10, John 3:3-5)
5. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4, Acts 10:44-48)
6. The present-day operation of the nine gifts of the Spirit. (I Corinthians 12: 7-11)
7. The following ordinances: The Lord’s Supper (Communion – I Corinthians 11:23-30); Water Baptism (Matthew 28:19, Romans 6:3-4)
8. Total prosperity for the whole man – spirit, soul and body. (John 10:10, II Corinthians 8:9, III John 2)
9. We believe that marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman as provided by example in Holy Scripture and that there are no acceptable variations of such (Ephesians 5:21 -33)
10. We believe that God created each person as either male or female in conformity with their biological sex (Genesis 1:27)
Led of the Lord, Dr. Steve Houpe traveled to Kansas City, Missouri in 1986, having never been, and founded Harvest Church International Outreach.
“Changing lives with the Word of God”—that was the vision that God impressed on his heart, and that’s what he sought out to do.
Harvest Church has touched and changed lives by sharing the Gospel, being proactively involved in the community, and through outreach—a substantial portion of which is executed through the comprehensive vision called, “Project Destiny.”
Project Destiny is a vision given by God to Pastor Steve Houpe to impact the lives of others in the community through education and a variety of programs that will encourage self-esteem and self-determination.
Through integrity, service, and compassion for the community-at-large, Bishop Steve Houpe has endeavored to lead a ministry that is appealing to the hearts of families while remaining submitted to the heart of God.

Each member of our team contributes their unique gifts and skills, enriching our mission and outreach efforts. BISHOP STEVE HOUPE
Founder & Senior Pastor
Bishop Steve Houpe is the Founder and Senior Pastor of Harvest Church International Outreach In Kansas City, Missouri. He is the loving husband of Dr. Donna Leah Houpe, as well as a proud father and grandfather.
Upon his graduating and ordination from Rhema Bible Training Center in 1986, Pastor Steve Houpe, a native Ohioan, was led by the Spirit of God to Kansas City, Missouri, having never before been, to begin the Harvest Church Ministry. The vision that God gave Pastor Houpe for Harvest Church was to "restore lost humanity back to God." Pastor Houpe believes it is the responsibility of the Church to win the lost to Jesus, edify the Body of Christ and to minister healing to the total man.
Harvest Church is an inter-denominational, multi-cultural church, where emphasis is placed on preaching and teaching the infallible Word of God. It is an oasis of love and one of the fastest growing churches in the Kansas City area. The church serves the community through several branch locations, a Nursery through 8th grade private school, and it's developmental outreach initiative called "Project Destiny."
Pastor Steve Houpe is the author of a number of books including the best seller, "No More Soul Ties," "Help! I Want to Save My Ministry," "Prayer, Fasting, and The Anointing," "The ABC's of Faith," "Men of Courage, Men of Strength," "Becoming One Family: Bringing Blended Families Together," which is co-authored alongside his wife, and many more!
Pastor Houpe, alongside his lovely wife Dr. Donna Leah Houpe, continues to touch lives locally, nationally, and internationally. Pastor Houpe has faithfully committed himself to the yielding of the Holy Spirit and continues to carry out the mission of spreading God's Word to the world.
The messages that are ministered through Pastor Houpe are touching lives across the Kansas City area and abroad. Many lives have been changed by Pastor Houpe yielding to the Spirit of God through the ministry God has given him. All kinds of people, regardless of race, nationality, social-economic positions and all levels of education have received his teaching of the Word of God. Those who listen, receive, and apply what God ministers through Pastor Steve Houpe are victorious in their walk with God and strengthened to endure until the day of Jesus' return.
For 35 years, Pastor Houpe has impacted the Kansas City metropolitan area through various programs. Harvest Community Development Corporation, Inc. (HCDC) will carry out the community development plan called Project Destiny. Project Destiny is a multi-phased development project whose purpose is to meet the needs of the community by providing affordable housing, medical facilities, supportive services, educational opportunities and opportunities for entrepreneurial development. Completed phases of Project Destiny include a Senior Citizen living facility, Gymnasium and Activity Center, and still forthcoming are it's Career Development and Training Center, Family Residential Subdivision and more.
DR. DONNA LEAH HOUPE
Executive Administrator
Dr. Donna Leah Houpe is the First Lady and Executive Pastor of Harvest Church International Outreach as well as Executive Administrator of Harvest Christian Schools.
Dr. Houpe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Southern University. She also received a Master’s Degree in education from Louisiana State University and a doctoral degree in Christian education from Faith Bible College.
Dr. Houpe is a devoted wife and mother to her loving husband and children. Dr. Donna Houpe is a blessed woman of God, following His plan as she assists her husband in carrying forth the vision that God has ordained for Harvest Church.
Dr. Houpe possesses over 29 years of experience in educating children. Dr. Houpe wants every child's purpose and destiny to come to fruition with the plan of God for their lives.
